our lead stylist suggests.
step1.always start with tressemme naturals nourishing moisture shampoo.
step2.apply an adequate amount of conditioner from mid-shaft to ends first.work anything thats left through the roots.
step3.leave on for 2-3minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
ingredients
1water(aqua,eau)-this is a moisturiser.
2.stearyl alcohol-its a fatty alcohol which is used as an emollient to help keep other ingredients intact in a formulation.its a good alcohol which does not dry hair but helps soothe and soften hair.
3.cetyl alcohol-this is a product thickener with moisturising effect on the hair.
4.caprylic/capric triglyceride-its derived from coconut oil and glycerine.it conditions hair, provides slip and helps with delivery of active ingredients like vitamins in a product.
5.stearamidopropyl dimethylamine-this is derived from vegetable oil(rapeseed) used to keep a product's ingredients from separating.it also helps provide slip.its used as a silicone replacement but it does mean all products that have this ingredient do not  have silicones.
so those are the top five ingredients in this product and the rest are;
fragrance,lauroyl lysine,capryl glycol,brassica campestris/aleurites fordi oil copolymer,aspartic acid,distearyldimonium chloride,persea gratissima(avocado oil),citric acid,alcohol,isopropyl alcohol,aloe barbadensis leaf juice.
avocado oil and aloe vera juice rank very low on the ingredient list meaning just a little bit of it is actually in this product.
my take on this product.
-it comes in a 750ml bottle for k69,which is a great value for money.
-it has a mild smell which is not overpowering and i like it.
-the consistency is thick.
-it has great slip hence its a great detangler.
-as a cowash it lathers well and leaves my hair clean and soft
-its a very moisturising deep conditioner and even better if you add oils and honey.
Overall, its one of my favourite products and i give it an 8 out of 10.

2 Bentonite clay hair wash.

hey queens!!
hope you and your manes are doing awesome.
Just wanted to share with you my bentonite clay experience.I have been using this product for over a year now(once every month) and am in love. This clay attracts and binds impurities and dirt from your hair leaving it detoxified.
aztec bentonite clay

nature's choice bentonite clay from umoyo

I have used bentonite clay both as a hair mask and a hair wash.As a mask,i usually mix bentonite clay, amla powder, aloe vera gel, apple cider vinegar and water.this combination leaves my hair super soft, clean and coily.I usually just follow up this mask with a conditioner and am done.
However,i recently started using this clay as a hair clarifying wash and i like it better  this way as it's easier to prepare and less time consuming.I simply mix bentonite clay with water and once in  awhile i add aloe vera gel just to make it a little more moisturising.I apply this mixture to hair, let it sit for 30minutes and rinse it out with water. It still leaves my hair clean and coily, but not as soft as the mask does.I always follow this up with a deep conditioner.

3.shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie

I bought this product from the zedhairequest blog at k165 if my memory serves me right. Its a 12oz/340mls jar.

Ingredients
deionized water,shea butter,coconut oil,macadamia seed oil,mango seed butter,avocado oil,vegetable glycerin,aloe vera leaf extract,silk protein,ammonium salt,neem seed oil,carrot seed oil,sorbitol esters,panthenol(pro-vitamin B-5),caprylyl glycol,essential oil blend,honeysuckle flower,japanese honeysuckle flower extract,vitamin E,hibiscus flower extract.

Claim
Our curl enhancing smoothie, enriched with silk protein and neem oil, defines curls, reduces frizz and smoothes hair for a soft, silky feel.
Coconut and neem oils restore moisture and create brilliant shine.Nutrient-rich vegetable butters condition hair without weighing it down for bouncy, healthy curls.

How i used the product and results
1.I used it on wet hair after deep conditioning as part of my LCO(liquid, cream, oil) method type of moisturising. It did help moisturise my hair but not for long as i had to re-moisturise after a day which is usually not the case when i use my DIY whipped shea butter.this is of course understood because its a cream and its lighter compared to the whipped shea  which is a butter and its thicker and oily therefore it helps lock in moisture for longer. That aside, would not recommend someone using this product this way.
2.I also used this product on dry hair as a moisturiser and a styler and i must
say,i really really loved it this way.I lightly spritz my hair with water, applied the cream and topped it with an oil and my hair was soft for days.

-Did it define my curls?not really.
-Reduced frizz and smoothed my hair for a soft and silky feel?hell yes lol
-restored moisture and created a brilliant shine?yes
-conditioned my hair without weighting it down for bouncy, healthy curls?yes
It also has a really nice coconut smell and has a thick consistency kinda like a deep conditioner.

Verdict
I loved this product and i will be repurchasing it.

Have a blessed day.

Product Review:Asili Naturals Hair and skin products

Hey curlies!!I know its been a looooong time since we spoke, please accept my heartfelt apology!life happened. For starters,am back in school(woot woot lol)and am still learning how to balance my life as a wife, working mother and a student.so if any of you are/have been in the same boat, please kindly advice a sister.
Anyway!!back to the main aim of this post. So last december i was sent samples of asili naturals products by sompwe whose the country director(Zambia) for the brand to try out the products. The line includes;rose water, first press castor oil, infused castor oil(with either peppermint oil or rose oil),hair and body butter and plain shea butter.
 I asked sompwe to give a brief history of Asili and here is what she had to say;
"Asili is a brain child of a very good friend of mine jolly mokorosi whose based in South Africa.I would say shes the founder of Asili because she had the courage to actually start Asili while the rest of us were busy buying chemical ladened products.like most women, jolly was tired of chemical heavy, expensive products that did't cater for kinky coily hair and she actually did something about it.I partnered with her a little later down the line".
 So here goes the review;

Rose Water Mist 100ml@K55
The rose water comes in a clear 100ml spritz bottle and is made from real rose flower petals. No other ingredient is added.
This was easily my favorite product in the line because finally i had found good quality rose water.I could tell it was good quality because of the intensity of the rose flower scent and the clear with no sediment appearance.I use this as a toner for my acne prone, blemished oily skin. Now i wont say it healed my skin, but it definitely helped hydrate my skin.
I predominantly used it on my hair after rinsing out the deep conditioner and it helped my hair absorb the leave in conditioner better and further softened my hair.I also used it in my daily spritz in place of water and the difference was noticeable.
It also helped calm my scalp when the itch came calling.all i did when scalp felt itchy was spritz, massage, oil scalp and i was good for days.

Hair and skin butter 125g @K95 and 250g@K165.
Ingredients coconut oil,shea butter,African beeswax,tea tree oil,lavender oil,rose oil,lemongrass.
This comes in a 125g and 250g plastic jars.Don't really know how i can describe the scent but it kinda smells lemony. On first glance,i noticed these little white particles in the butter which i was abit worried about but to my surprise disppear on contact. This butter melts on touch of a finger and turns into oil which made it very easy to apply on skin.I applied it immediately after shower and it locked in moisture and left my skin moisturised all day.Did't really like the scent for a body butter but as a hair product the scent is perfect.Would appreciate a vanilla or cocoa scent for the skin.Tried removing makeup with this product and i was amazed, everything came right off.Apply sizeable amount on skin and wipe face with tissue or makeup wipes.just be careful not to get it in your eyes.
Hair and body butter melting off the back of my hand.

First press castor oil 150ml(plain @K50,peppermint infused@K60 and rose infused@K60).
This comes in 150ml dark bottles. The oil isnt any different from the Now Foods castor oil that i have used before but the scents are a bonus. If like me you not really a fun of the castor oil scent then you will appreciate this product.

Shea butter 125g@K70
In the few years that i have been a natural,i have used quite a number of shea butter brand and this one is right at the top with the best of them.it works great as a sealant.

Overall i think this is an excellent all natural brand with good quality products.Despite being a little on the pricey side, the products are well worth the price.Asili gets my stamp of approval.

Jolly and sompwe would like to give an oppotunity to women out there who run salons or just want to earn an extra buck to join Team Asili as distributors. For further details, contact sompwe on +260968464720 for further details.
